About Us

Australians are increasingly looking for places to live that focus on the ‘l’ word: lifestyle. It can take a lot of research to figure out if you’re moving to the place that’s right for you. We can streamline that process for you, saving you time, money and possible heartache.

Over many years, we’ve travelled to more than 200 locations around Australia to research great lifestyle locations. Some writers who specialise in this topic have not set foot in various areas, instead relying on statistics or the internet.

That’s not how we do things. Having written several editions of Where To Retire In Australia, we believe in pounding the pavements of the areas we write about, asking thousands of locals all the questions and spending time in the area to see what it’s really like. Our readers tell us time and again that our formula has worked for them. One reader, Max, wrote to say that he moved after reading one of our books and was thankful that he did, otherwise he would not have had access to life-saving medical treatment.

You’ll also find our joint expertise and experience in researching this field. Owen has a background in financial planning and accounting. He has written many books on finance. Together with Jill, he has co-authored several editions of the award-winning Where To Retire In Australia. They have also written Retire Bizzi.

Jill has been an educator and author for many years. She is the author of 21 Ways To Retire, which gives insights into how 21 Australians from different backgrounds adjusted to retirement.

We regularly speak around Australia at conferences and seminars for banks, superannuation funds, stockbroking firms, financial planning firms and community organisations.

Regular radio segments, along with writing for publications in Australia and overseas, has shown us that people are eager to learn about good lifestyle locations. We also regularly update our blog, www.where2now.net, which keeps people informed of lifestyle location news and views.

Moving is a huge decision but, when done well, is immensely rewarding.
