ONE of the biggest land releases in recent times at Lennox Head is now before the State Government for approval. The Pacific Pines residential subdivision is expected, on approval, to bring an extra 1750 residents to the village, living in 480 homes in a mix of residential lots, duplexes and small affordable housing. The development also is to provide 310 retirement units with a maximum height of three storeys.

Alan is pictured receiving the "Safer Communities Award, from the High Sheriff, (the Queen's representative for Cumbia), with the chairman of the County Police Committee, the Chief Constable looking on.
The Award, Alan says, ' was for a special project for the elderly. It is a training scheme to teach people how not to let strangers, bogus workmen, into their home.
Alan invented the aluminium beer car…..and received a ‘Key To The City Of London’ for his work.
However, Alan, very modestly, says, “I led a Research & Development Team designing both beer & soft drinks cans, also developed wine & spirits, with mixers added, in cans, eg. G & T. I am a Freeman of both the "City of London” & “The Worshipful Company of Marketors Livery Company”.
He is a member of: the Royal Society of Health, Institute of Food Science & Technology and also the Chartered Institute of Management. Alan is also the Founder of the Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Trust, pioneered ‘Message in a Bottle’ and ‘Message in your Wallet’ with the High Sheriff.
In his ‘retirement’, Alan has also been / is:
a Representative for Johansen's Historic Houses, Castles & Gardens, Member of National Council, representing G.Ps. in Cumbria, Chief Executive Eden Primary Care Group, Member Royal Sunderland Hospital Shadow Board, Brampton Medical Practice, Fund Holding Manager, Senior Partner, Acer international Agencies, Deputy Managing & International Sales & Marketing Director of EET, an R.T.Z. Company.
Alan lists his interests as: People, City of London (Freeman), Travel, Theatre, Gardening,
Music ( “Church Organist”), Wine & Cooking.
He and his wife, Audrey, have not kept still.
Adoption: Alan and his wife, Audrey are also the proud adoptive ‘parents’ of ‘Weeksy’….a penguin from Phillip Island, Victoria. ‘Weeksy’ was a wedding anniversary gift from cousins in Australia.
